谢和耐《中国与基督教》一书出版于1982年，该书催生了一系列对中国16到18世纪的基督教问题的研究。作为法国启蒙运动的忠实捍卫者，谢和耐挑选的中文文献大多带有反基督教的基调。本演讲将以最新汉学研究为基础，对谢和耐的主要论点进行分析并展开质疑：“中国语言”和“西方逻辑”难道真的如谢和耐所声称的那样，是不可调和的吗？我们是否能够同意谢和耐有关中西方的宗教行为和准则绝对对立的观点？
2. Mantic arts in China and Europe. A comparison
Both Western and Chinese traditional civilizations were interested in knowing the future and in strategies to cope with it. In premodern times, a large panoply of techniques were developed that included, for instance, prophecy, divination, astrology, the interpretation of omens, portents, and dreams. However, the weight attributed to these various techniques differed considerably in China and the West. We observe differences in the emphasis on oral versus written forms of the oracle, in the importance of inspiration or calculation, and in the general assessment of divination by the élite in different periods. The talk is aimed at giving a preliminary overview on these issues, including the question which authority was held responsible for the efficiency of an oracle.
